In memory of Almog Sarusi
Our dear and beloved Almog was a son, brother, grandson, and friend of the highest order.
After he was murdered in Hamas captivity, we decided to fulfill the unwritten will he left us—one that reflects the path he lived by.
Acts of kindness, striving for excellence, strong values, friendship, love of the land, speaking well of others, leadership, and optimism were deeply rooted in Almog’s life. He always carried a big smile on his face.
We are here today to continue his unique path and ensure that the light he shared with us will never be extinguished.
Association activities
Evenings of Song
In collaboration with the “Asher Ruach Bo” pre-military preparatory school, where we played the songs that Almog loved and listened to.
Almog Run
An annual race held for students at Paamonim School in Ra’anana in memory of Almog.
Education lessons
A series of educational lessons inspired by the life and values of Almog at the “Asher Ruach Bo” pre-military preparatory school.
Neve Almog
Establishing an agricultural area in the Ramat Negev region for growing grapes and pistachios, with the long-term goal of developing it into a settlement.
Our mission
Almog had a very clear vision and well-defined dreams. He aspired to make this world a better place.
As he once wrote to a friend on WhatsApp:
“With God’s help, I will bring hope to people in the future, but I hope I will never need to, because everyone will already be happy.”
Although we knew Almog well, we later discovered that he performed many acts of kindness in secret, and that he was even more extraordinary and special than we had ever imagined.
He dreamed of opening a supportive home for at-risk youth, settling in the Negev or the Golan Heights, and working in education and music.
The association’s activities aim to fulfill all the dreams that Almog did not have the chance to realize in his lifetime.
Who are we
We, Nira and Yigal, Almog’s parents, together with Amit, Lahav, and Shaked, his younger siblings, stand behind the establishment of this association.
For us, Almog is our firstborn son—the one who made us a family and served as a role model for everyone who came after him.
For 27 years, we were blessed to have him in our lives. He taught us to appreciate what we have, to be better, more optimistic, and happier people.
When Almog was taken from us, we found new meaning in life: to continue his unique path and ensure that everyone gets to know him and his work as we knew him—as the best of people.
